Our Platform Meetings during the year 2002-2003
will include a series of talks by Richard Reichart
based on "THE RELIGION OF DUTY" by Felix Adler,
founder of the Ethical Culture Movement.
Each talk is a "translation" of a chapter in the book
which was compiled around 100 years ago from Adler's lectures,
by another Ethical Culture Leader, Leslie Willis Sprague.
Mr. Reichart intends to follow Adler's line of thought closely, but to
modernize the language, occasionally substitute illustrations closer
to our time than Adler used, perhaps make a personal comment on the ideas,
and allow for group discussion of how they relate to our time.
Chapter 1, "First Steps Toward A Religion," was covered last year.
